Thousands of students are skipping the classroom and heading directly
to the testing center. With focused preparation, they are passing
90-minute, multiple-choice exams to earn between three and twelve college
credits per test. These tests have no age requirement and scores are
valid for twenty years. There are many reasons why students use
credit-by-exam. Some students want to test out of general
education requirements and focus their time and resources on classes
relevant to their major. Some students need to fill prerequisites
quickly. And some students, with graduate school in mind, want to get
